Objectives and Roles
The Academic Advisory Committee was constituted with the main four objectives as follows
I) Organization and Administrative Functions
II) Knowledge and Research
III) Measurement and Evaluation (Assessment)
IV) Professional Development
I. ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS
1. To advise the College Board on
- Curriculum, infrastructure and resources
- Teaching, instructional design and pedagogy
- Research and assessment data that provide formative and summative information to teachers and to students concerning the art of learning and its success
- Technology, tools to be used by students and teachers to foster learning process
- Educational standards, common objectives and cognitive skills
- Professional development to assist teachers in the delivery of instructions and assessment.
II. KNOWLEDGE AND RESEARCH
- To suggest the College authority on recent / advance research and academic trends
- To act as a liaison between the College Board and professional organizations to facilitate sharing and collaborative efforts
- To use the knowledge and skills that comprises the pharmacy study and to collaborate on its activities, projects, and programs.
- To advise the College authority on academic standards, preparation, and achievement for success
- To inform the College authority about cognitive research related to the teaching
III. ASSESSMENT
- To advise the College authority on an effective and comprehensive set of examination pattern
- To recommend research, validity studies, and curriculum surveys that aid in improving assessments standards, quality and finally competitiveness at global level.
- To Practice evaluation techniques for fair assessment of staff and students
IV. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- To serve as an advocate for all faculty members in their efforts to enhance their professional development.
- To identify guidelines for teacher education.
- To incorporate effective technologies for the learning and teaching.
- To review College curricular materials and professional development publications.
